RPA Lead Developer

Position Summary
The RPA Lead Developer leads the design, development, and deployment of enterprise Robotic Process Automation (RPA) solutions. This role is responsible for architecting secure, auditable automation workflows, mentoring junior developers, and ensuring RPA solutions integrate seamlessly with Government's systems while meeting federal security and compliance requirements.
Key Responsibilities
• Lead the design and architecture of enterprise RPA solutions for Government
• Analyze business processes and identify candidates for automation
• Design bot workflows that integrate with Government's systems and data sources
• Implement secure, auditable automations using credential vaults, RBAC, and comprehensive logging
• Develop intelligent automation solutions integrating OCR, NLP, and AI capabilities
• Establish exception handling frameworks and error recovery procedures
• Lead testing efforts including UAT coordination with end users
• Mentor and provide technical guidance to RPA Developers
• Create and maintain bot runbooks and operational SOPs
• Ensure all automations comply with federal security controls
• Collaborate with Data Engineers on system integrations (SQL, APIs)
• Support AI Engineers in enhancing RPA with cognitive capabilities
Required Qualifications
• Education: Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, or related field
• Experience: 8+ years delivering enterprise RPA solutions with 3+ years leading development teams
• Certifications:
- UiPath Advanced RPA Developer certification and/or
- Microsoft Power Platform certification (Power Automate)
• Technical Skills:
- Expert proficiency in UiPath and/or Microsoft Power Automate
- Strong programming skills for automation scripting
- Experience with credential vault management and secure bot deployment
- Knowledge of SQL and API-based system integrations
- Experience implementing OCR and NLP within automation workflows
- Understanding of software testing methodologies
Preferred Qualifications
• Experience implementing RPA in federal government environments
• Familiarity with federal security requirements for automated systems
• Experience with Blue Prism or Automation Anywhere
• Knowledge of ITIL or similar service management frameworks
